The amount of lightning in the country has increased a lot in the last few years. I remember last year, this May, due to Cyclone Amphan, there was extensive damage in different parts of the country. In many places, it took weeks for the power system to recover.

In this kind of storm, we freelancers suffer the most. In the last few days of lightning, several freelancers' PCs, routers, modems have been burnt. Fixing a PC at this time of the year is also a lot of trouble. Due to power and net problems, many people could not submit the work of the buyer properly, there were reports of negative power including order cancellation.

Due to the rain including thunderstorms, news of casualties is coming almost every day. According to statistics, Bangladesh accounts for almost half of the world's lightning strikes. From this it is understood what stage its horror has reached. Along with the general public, as a freelancer, we should take extra precautions. Because we are always connected with electronics devices. And the most vulnerable to lightning are electronics devices. Note that people like me who are freelancing from the village, the risk is much higher, because the lightning is more in the village than in the city. But the city also has a lot of risk. Many homes in the city are also witnessing the burning of electronics. Time is of the essence for a freelancer to survive a thunderstorm

1. As soon as the storm starts, turn off all devices including your PC router and unplug from the current line. Disconnect the broadband line from its PC / router!

2. If your broadband line is a normal CAT core cable, lightning is more likely to damage the PC router. So it is better to tell the IP provider to take the line with the optical cable. This will reduce the risk a bit.

3. Make sure your home's electrical line is properly earthed. If not here's a new product just for you! If the line is earthed or grounded, the chances of the electronics burning out will be greatly reduced. You can also install circuit breakers at home. If there is any major problem in the power line, the power line will be disconnected immediately. This will prevent the loss of valuable electronics. Take the help of an experienced electrician for this.

4. The risk of lightning strikes on tin rice is much higher. In addition to earthing current lines, make sure to place lightning rods on the rice. Do Google / YouTube search for details, and consult an experienced electrician.

5. If there is no protection in the house, stay in a separate room, not all together during a storm.

. When lightning strikes, stay away from all types of electronics devices and metal objects. Stay away from iron windows, doors and iron grills.

. If you see thick black clouds, do not leave the house, you can go out wearing rubber shoes in case of emergency.

. If it starts raining with thunder while you are outside, stay away from tall trees and electric poles and wires or metal poles, mobile towers etc. If possible, take a position in the empty space.

9. If someone is injured by lightning, they have to be treated like those injured by electric shock. You can search YouTube to know how to give first aid. Your little awareness can save a person's life.

10. If there is a risk of lightning, your pending work in Fiverr, fast delivery. If not, request the buyer to extend the time. There is no fear that the buyer will extend the time. But don't forget to give blank delivery or fake delivery, cancel if you can't deliver the work at all, even if it causes some damage to the account, at least avoid being banned. 11. Every professional freelancer must have IPS backup. If there is lightning in the area, there may not be electricity for a long time. It is better to buy band IPS from local handmade IPS.
